Announcement – A new Butchery Training Advisor in the South Island joining the team

We are pleased to announce that Sam Sturgess has joined the team as our new Butchery Training Advisor – South Island.

Sam started working at Fresh Choice Barrington as a clean-up boy. He was very interested in the butchery trade and an opportunity came up to become an apprentice. Sam took up an apprenticeship and excelled in every part of it, butchery has been his passion for nearly 20 years.

Sam eventually when into a 3IC and then 2IC role in a supermarket. Sam is an experienced and qualified Butchery Manager who has been working in this role for the past 14 years.

As an experienced butcher Sam has an excellent eye for detail, proven to guarantee employer and apprentices satisfaction by giving services and providing support to get apprentices qualified. Sam is excited about the next step in his career, growing further in the role of Butchery Training Advisor where he can pass on his passion and knowledge in butchery to the sector.

Outside of work, Sam lives for the gym, basketball. craft beer and a passion for smoking meat on his weber kettle.
