Our Work Placements help build confidence and competence for successful careers.
Our Work Placements enable students to learn from professionals, develop their interpersonal skills and put theory into practice. Covering a wide range of industries, these programmes are designed to kickstart careers through a blend of academic achievement and real-world experience.
Our Work Placement programmes provide students with valuable workplace experience and are designed to lead to part-time jobs, apprenticeships and other paid work – creating an advantage for our rangatahi as they create their own career.
Future Foodies
In partnership with Foodstuffs New Zealand we are proud to support schools through our extensive, country-wide gateway programme: Future Foodies.
When students interested in Butchery or Bakery as a career join Future Foodies, the unit standard credits earned on placements at New World’s, PAKnSAVE and Four Square’s will go towards toward an apprenticeship in Trade Butchery and Baking.
While Future Foodies is exclusive to Skills4Work, Future Foodies has resulted in many students across Aotearoa securing part-time jobs and apprenticeships.
We welcome expressions of interest any time.
Work Placements: Butchery, Bakery & Retail
Whether your student has been offered a Work Placement at a local butchery or boutique retailer – we make choosing, managing and completing work placements easy.
Explore the career pathways we provide resources for here. Each career pathway will include a summary of what it’s like to do that job, the key skills your student will need, as well as the areas they can specialise in during or after their placement.
We have programmes and resources available to support your students’ preferred work placement. We offer individual unit standards as well as combination packages (where two or more related unit standards are grouped together under one assessment). As a result, choosing appropriate and achievable unit standards is easy and cost-effective.
